چکیده
The large gaps in performance and complexity between the conventional single-user matched filter (MF) and the optimum multiuser detector motivate the search for other multiuser detectors that exhibit good performance/complexity tradeoffs [2]. This lecture examines various linear multiuser detectors. They can be implemented in a decentralized fashion where only users of interest need be demodulated, like the decorrelating detector which is optimal when the received amplitudes are completely unknown. The performance could be further improved if the information about the received signal-to-noise ratios is incorporable in the linear transformation. The lecture notes include the study of linear multiuser detectors both by decorrelating and nondecorrelating approaches, according to different criteria. The successive interference cancellation technique is introduced at the end.

INTRODUCTION In this lecture, we continue on radio resource management in wireless networks, and are focused on the resource allocation algorithm. Firstly, we discuss the goal of optimum regarding resource allocation, based on which we define the assignment failure rate and the instantaneous capacity of a wireless system. We also discuss two kinds of channel allocation: Fixed Channel Allocation...
متن کاملGeneralized Detector under Nonorthogonal Multipulse Modulation in Remote Sensing Systems
We develop the minimum mean-squared-error (MMSE) multiuser generalized detector for nonorthogonal multipulse modulation in wireless sensor networks employed by remote sensing systems over the noncoherent additive white Gaussian noise channel. The generalized detector (GD) is constructed based on the generalized approach to signal processing in the presence of noise. We analyze the asymptotic pe...
متن کاملA New Class of Efficient Block-Iterative Interference Cancellation Techniques for Digital Communication Receivers
A new and efficient class of nonlinear receivers is introduced for digital communication systems. These “iterated-decision” receivers use optimized multipass algorithms to successively cancel interference from a block of received data and generate symbol decisions whose reliability increases monotonically with each iteration. Two variants of such receivers are discussed: the iterated-decision e...
متن کاملNonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems
Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...
متن کاملIntersymbol Decorrelating Detector for Asynchronous CDMA Networks with Multipath
Most reported multiuser detection techniques for CDMA systems need the channel estimation including the delay spread and the parameters of the multipath channel of the desired user. This paper proposes an intersymbol decorrelating detector that makes use of the cross-correlation matrix constructed by the consecutively received symbols. The proposed detector is attractive for its simplicity beca...
